London calling..

We are now in London, which is warmer than The Netherlands. Most days were around 1 degree in The Netherlands, but here in London it is around 10 degrees, which makes a big difference!

On our first night we caught up with Darren (a fellow workmate from Agilent). He took us out for dinner and drinks. Thanks Darren!

Today we went for a very, very long walk around Richmond Hill (the biggest park in London) and we saw some deer. Ohh and yesterday we saw a squirrel for the first time!! They are sooo cute!!

Soon it'll be New Years in London! We're spending it with our friend Sam and her friends. Starting at her house with drinks and food. Then moving on to a pub around 10pm, where we will see in the New Year!

We hope that everyone has had a wonderful New Year. And wishing you lots of love, happiness and good health!

Fairytales, canals and art.

The day after going to Madurodam we went to Efteling, which is a theme park of fairytales. I've been there 17 years ago so it was nice to go back and I did remember a lot of it. It was also fun going on rides, which is something I haven't done for a very long time!

On our last day in The Netherlands we went to Amsterdam, where we wandered around the streets and canals (and Greg got to see the red lights for the first time). We also went to Rembrandt's house and viewed his artwork.

This one's mostly for Eugene. You can get a glass of 'Leffe Brun' (dark ale) for 2.50 Euro (thats just over AU$4.00. At the Belgian Beer Cafe it about AU$7.50.

Aaaah... :)

Oh and Grolsch was on sale this week for 7.00 Euro for 24!, thats about $11 for a slab!
I may just move here.

Pics from Madurodam

This is my first attempt to post some pics so please forgive.

We went to a place in The Hague which is a little miniature city made up of a little models of scenes from all over the county. (My first photo follows ;)

A church with an amazing amount of detail. We went and saw the real one the next day in s`-Hertogenbosch (yes the S is part of the name)

All very nice and quite cool to now see a whole bunch of things in miniature, then a few days later get to see the real thing.
Hope the photos worked

Arrived In Europe..

Well.. here we are in The Netherlands! After an eventful plane ride.. (on the way to Kuala Lumpur some Irish guy was harassing heaps of women on the plane and included me! Until Greg kindly asked the plane staff to do something! Then on the way from Kuala Lumpur to Amsterdam I was very ill and let's just say that Greg would have made a great nurse! Thanks Greg!!!) .. we finally arrived in The Netherlands at 5am!! YIKES!! It was an uneventful day because we were very exhausted!! Yesterday we went to Eindhoven and saw some ice scultures in -8 C!!! Very cold!! Today we spent Christmas with my family and had a lovely meal on a Gourmet - kinda like a BBQ but indoors and everyone cooks their own food.

Tomorrow we're off to Madurodam (a miniture city).

We hope that everyone has had a Merry Christmas!
